TOURIST
ZONE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TEGUISE
| The municipality of Teguise encompasses
the central area of the island with its undulating landscape,
the unmistakable cliffs of Famara, its ancestral seas
of lava as well as the collection of small islands known
as the”Chinijo” or “mini” archipelago.
It is also home to the quiet tourist resort of Costa Teguise.
This is a resort in which the original charm of the island
has been carefully preserved thanks to the strict enforcement
of a sustainable development policy that is imposed on
Lanzarote´s tourist sector. |
| 1) COSTA TEGUISE |
| Costa Teguise offers
all the services you would expect from a top quality
tourist resort whilst deliberately avoiding the
perils of overcrowding, unfriendly property developments
and without falling into the trap of offering frivolous
extravagances. |
| 2) VILLA DE TEGUISE |
| Teguise, the capital
of Lanzarote up to 1852, has become one of the most
important cultural and tourist centres on the island.
Its streets with palaces, convents and squares preserve
the unmistakable flavour of the passage of the centuries.
| 3) FAMARA |
| The Famara inlet,
flanked by the spectacular cliff bearing the same
name, is a fabulous area for sports activities primarily
surfing or paragliding. In this protected natural
zone, you will find a quiet fishing village with
several restaurants, supermarket and surf shops.
| 4) LA GRACIOSA |
| The "Chinijo Archipelago"
is made up of a group of islets known as La Graciosa,
Alegranza and Montaña Clara, together with
the East and West Roques. |
